Biography
Bijal Damani is an educator who brings lots of innovations and perspectives to the traditional education system. An experienced Business Teacher with a demonstrated history of working with major focus on integrating 21st Century Skills along with the prescribed syllabus – giving her students an opportunity for holistic development and career/life readiness. A firm believer in education which has less content and more of context , Bijal has been spearheading many projects and activities.
One such project is Social Entrepreneurship Project Galaxy Bazaar. Her students have earned more than INR 1,00,00,000 ( One Crore Indian Rupees Equivalent to USD $ 1,66,000/-) Bijal and her students have donated these money to provide FREE quality education to girls from underprivileged section of the community. Bijal has received many accolades from institutions like Forbes, UNESCO, Microsoft, Wharton, ShareAmerica, Teach A Man to Fish Foundation, Varkey Foundation etc.
Another project which has been founded by Bijal is called Innovative Product and Marketing Competition. In this competition, students team up, look around their own community , spot a problem and come up with a solution to the problem in form of an innovative product. Her students have been winners at Maker’s Faire, Junior Achievement competition, SSIP Gujarat etc.
Located in Rajkot, Gujarat – Bijal has always overcome the geographical boundaries to wow the world. Bijal has been the receiver of some of the most prestigious teacher awards in the world. She is the recipient of ASCD Outstanding Young Educator Award, ISTE Outstanding Teacher Award, Microsoft Fellow, Google Certified Innovator, HP EdTEch Innovator Award, Forbes Good Samaritan Award, two Presidential Awards for Education and ICT and last but not the least – She was the part of the Top 50 finalist for the most prestigious $ 1 Million Global Teacher Prize Award.
